Hospital Boat M/V "Spinach"
STORY
The M/V Tanner was planned to be made in 1972 as a passenger ferry, but was instead changed to a Hospital Boat due to ongoing conflicts in the Meier regions, and in 1973 was released as a Hospital Boat as the "Spinach".
There was nothing special about her, now that she lost her passenger ferry status, having -
16 medical beds,
lots of medical tools,
a medical status displayed by The Red Cross
and more hospital ship statuses displayed.
In 1976 she was holding 4 injured people with 3 medical personnel and 2 crew on board when she struck an unknown object that caused a jet of water to rise the side of the ship, and a big gaping hole now existing within the hull. The ship sank within 34 seconds, killing 1 injured, and 1 crew.
No inquiry was held, other than a statement of "Do Not Attack Hospital Ships".
