[K4G] Empires of Old - The Red Hammer Union

Every day, we toiled to fill the pockets of our capitalist tyrants. Half starved, exhausted, and freezing to death, they ignored our pleas. Good men often went missing in the mines. We’d hear a crash of rock and steel, but the boss had quotas to meet. We’d always just pick up our shovels and get back to work. Sooner or later, new men would replace the ones we lost, as if they never existed at all. We had no choice. Our oppressors had to be stopped. We united under a red banner and seized power for the people. Finally, freedom was within our reach, or so we thought. The corporation took one look at us and decided we weren’t worth the effort. They abandoned us here in this desolate arctic wasteland! Worse still was what came after. Without the corporation to defend us, the alien tribes rose up to remove us from their territory. The savage beasts' war cries haunt us. Every time we close our eyes, we see their hellish faces. Some pray to their god to stop the screams echoing in their heads, but it’s pointless. What kind of god would allow us to live this nightmare? The Red Hammer Union is the sixth installation in my Empires of Old mod series. This series aims to expand upon RimWorld’s lore and introduce new alien civilizations to the game. A mining corporation used to operate in the planet’s arctic regions, outside of the jurisdiction of any known regulations. The corporation frequently subjected its employees to horrifying working conditions. Eventually, the workers revolted against their capitalist overlords and fought for better working conditions under a red banner. Seeing no profitable solution, the corporation abandoned all its employees on the harsh and alien planet. Shortly after, the native Yttakin tribes began their attacks, seeking to wipe the vulnerable invaders from their territory. To this day, the failed revolutionaries remain, forever haunted by the horrors they have witnessed. The revolutionaries will use low-tech firearms and unconventional weaponry, such as shovels and pickaxes. They will often send enslaved corpos or Yttakin tribesmen to fight in their stead. The Yttakin tribe’s technology is poor, but their numbers and savage beasts make up for it. They keep wargs as pets. - 2 new factions. - 1 new culture. - 507 real French names. This mod is compatible with CE and VFE – Empire. The new factions will not make use of the new royalty mechanics, such as the Great Hierarchy.
