Required mods: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3547794312 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3535295022 "Trudy-Ann" is a ~30ft Bermuda-rigged monohull sailboat, loosely inspired by my real Bonito 22 and scaled up for Stormworks. Designed for recreational sailing and exploration, she uses the new sail mechanics to provide a realistic and practical sailing experience. Features: Fully functional (as much as Stormworks will allow me) Bermuda rig: hoist/lower mainsail and jib, trim via main/jib sheets Digital displays: heading, rate of turn, wind direction/speed (relative), rudder position, speed over ground Automatic bilge pumps for cabin and engine compartment Functional anchor on foredeck with powered winch Fully equipped cabin with galley, seating, bed, equipment, 2-way radio Analong chart plotter with position logging Safe operation up to 40% wind with all 3 sails Safe operation up to 50% wind with jib + main OR spinnaker + main Safe operation up to 70% wind with jib only Sailing Procedure: 1. Instruments ON 2. Navigation Lights ON (Stern Light and Cockpit Lights if operating at night) 3. Enter helm and press [SPACE] to relax sail tension (SAILS WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS) 4. Raise Main ON 5. Control boom with mainsheet buttons for optimal wind angle 6. Release Jib ON, let out some slack to allow sail to catch wind 7. Port Jib Out + Starb. Jib In or vice versa to bring sail into position 8. Use 4 arrow buttons to trim jib sheets for best wind angle Spinnaker Operation: Important: The spinnaker is a downwind sail only. Do not attempt to fly it above ~110° apparent wind or in winds stronger than 50%. Always lower the spinnaker before gybing. 1. Turn the boat onto a broad reach or dead downwind 2. Press hotkey [1] to relax spinnaker tension 3. Release Spinnaker ON, let out some slack to allow sail to catch wind 4. Port Spin. Out + Starb. Spin. In or vice versa to bring sail into position 5. Use 4 arrow buttons to trim spinnaker sheets 6. The spinnaker is used primarily as a parachute and not as an aerofoil, you will find best results around 90° angle of attack. Sometimes the jib/spinnaker clew will clip into the hull and get stuck when changing sides so you will need to use the sheets to get it unstuck. Stowing Sails: 1. Turn boat to face into wind and let the sails luff 2. Port Jib Out + Starb. Jib Out to let the lines slack 3. Lower Jib ON to lower sail 4. Mainsheet In ON to bring boom to centre 5. Raise Main OFF Do not leave the cabin hatch open or the bilge pumps will be on constantly and drain your battery! This is my first attempt at building in Stormworks so feedback and criticism is appreciated! Credits: Thanks to Pie for the hull design and guidance with the build: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3452299367 Navigation Displays: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=3025094276 Heading Hold: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1812041566 Engine Management: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2416132817 Analong Plotting Chart: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3019702522 Weather Screen: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2184149621 Compact sail and rope anchors: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3547794312
