F-14 'Tomcat' Carrier-Based Fighter
The F-14 Tomcat was an American carrier capable fighter aircraft notable for its unique variable geometry wing; It served US carriers between 1974 and 2006 and proved a capable and effective aircraft.
My recreation of it boasts a complex suite of electronics, including a search and track radar, an RWR, a laser targeting pod and electronic map. It has 6 hardpoints mounted with 2 Long range AAMs and 4 Regular AAMs; Additionally it has a large droptank significantly extending the aircraft's range.
On top of weapons it has functioning ejector seats for the pilot and weapons operator and a fully equipped cockpit to display information.
Finally it has both a tow bar and arrestor hook for aircraft carrier operations, and a radio for communications in the rear seat.
Startup:
1) If using, engage the droptank flow (rear seat)
2) Switch both engine fuel switches to on
3) Throttle up to 0.15
4) Hold the starter on each engine until running
5) Once ready, throttle up the engines; Engage the afterburner for takeoff
Radar usage:
-Engage radar using the switch
-Switch between top-down view and forward-facing view using the toggle mode switch
-Engage the search and lock mechanism using the boresight lock switch
-Toggle HUD usage with the switch (Only for lock+forward facing view)
-Max range of radar can be configured using the arrow buttons on the right
Other:
-Only move landing gear while at lower speeds (afterburner OFF)
-Tow bar will automatically disengage after use
-Parking brakes start on; use the switch to disengage them
-Laser targeting and map must be used from the rear seat
