What it actually does:
- Replaces letters 'R' and 'L' into 'W' at startup.
- Affects all keyed text for UI, def labels, descriptions, text for art, ideos, tales and quests.
- Compatible with nearly everything!
What it does NOT translate:
- Predefined names and proper nouns (such as Roxy, Ludeon, Borealis)
- Mod names and descriptions (some names in mod settings are affected though)
- Hardcoded text without keys (such as log messages)
- Custom verb labels (such as from MVCF VerbGiver comps)
Technical details for nerds:
- Patches LoadFromFile_Keyed() and LoadFromFile_Strings()
- At startup: runs through all the defs, reloads language data and resets some caches.
FAQ:
Q: Is it safe to add or remove this mod mid-save?
A: Yes! No errors either!
Q: Does this mod have performance impact?
A: No FPS/TPS impact, but slightly increases loading times at startup.
Note: For my modlist with 335 mods it's about 2-5 seconds.
Q: Does it also translate log messages?
A: No. This would make it harder to troubleshoot errors.
Note: Mods that use keyed strings for logging (such as Drug Policy Fix) WILL be affected.
Q: Does it work on other languages?
A: Works on any language that has letters 'R' and 'L'. Doesn't do much for non-latin languages.
Q: CE compatible?
A: Should be about 99% translated.
