Amphibious Landcrawler

Behold! This here is a perfectly accurate recreation of the typical American Compact Car! This is a landship/landcrawler that has been modified to act as an amphibious craft. There was originally a non-amphibious version, but it was too wide to go over bridges and not useful enough to justify its existence. This vessel is loosely based off of the 1932 Sahara Landship (never constructed) and is primarily a long haul passenger and cruise vessel, capable of tackling both water and off-road terrain. The wheels, because of the nature of Stormworks, WILL become damaged. It is only avoidable if the creation is made indestructible, however this does not impede the function of the ship. It is also rather loud at anything above ~7% throttle, be advised. Top Speed: Land: ~25 m\s Sea: ~6 m/s Rooms: Deck 1: Fuel Tank (not accessible), Engine Room, Entrance Lobby, Mid-space & Crew Accommodation, Medical Bay, and a Storage + Mechanical Room. Deck 2: Five Passenger Cabins, Central Lobby, and a Outdoor Promenade. Deck 3: Bridge, Indoor Observation lounge, and an Outdoor Observation Deck Features: Retractable Stairways (For land) Ladders and Handholds (For sea) Big Wheels (also act as paddlewheels) Excessive seating and sleeping arrangements Twin Engine Diesel-Electric Propulsion Spotlight Semi-Automatic Engine Control Zero-Turn Capable Holds more fuel than you really need Backup Generator Backup Backup Generator Lots of supplies Medical Beds Firefighting Equipment (Hose + SCBA Refill Station) Additional Amphibious Half-track Deployable Front and side guards/plows. Engine Operation: The twin engine setup is actually super excessive. The whole craft is efficient enough to run on one engine at partial power even at full throttle. Engine one comes pre-configured so all you need to do is: 1: Start Engine 1 with Engine 1 Ignition 2: Raise Engine 1 Clutch to full 3: Activate Automatic Control If you want to do other things with the engine you can figure it out yourself lol. How to drive: Sync Throttle drives both drivetrains with the same speed. The desync button will transfer authority to the separated drivetrain controls. This is to allow smooth turning or fine-tuned movement. The reverse switches are independent of the desync switch and are useful for preforming zero-turns (like a lawnmower). Controls are similar when in water, although it should be noted that the entire ship tends to drive at an angle, it is advisable to adjust throttle accordingly. When Entering water, it is best to use a gentle slope and drive into the water gently. If no such terrain is available, find a spot on the coast that leads to a sheer drop with somewhat deep water. Drive off this (ideally small) cliff at full throttle in order to clear the terrain and land in the water. All passengers and Crew should be seated for this maneuver. When Exiting water, find a beach or other slope that leads out of the water. you will not be able to crawl out of the water in many places so be advised. For trees, and certain rough terrain, deployable guards are located on the front and both sides of the ship, controlled with the respectively labeled levers. The main Function of these is plowing down trees when you want to drive through a forest. The front plow mainly protects the fuel tank, while the side plows are for the gangways and the halftrack. Do note that the halftrack is rather fragile and will combust upon contact with trees. Fire extinguishers are located in red cases mounted in various parts of the ship. Amphibious Half-track: In addition to the main vehicle there is also an amphibious half-track that can be deployed in lifeboat fashion, and hoisted back up after use. It is intended for scouting the path ahead so the landcrawler won't need to. It is also usable as a lifeboat. I don't feel like explaining the controls of this thing so I'm not going to, but it is worth noting that it is neither a good car or a good boat. Remember to attach the rails of the craft to the grippers of the hoist so it will not fling around everywhere, especially in low physics settings. Note: The current pictures do not include the half-track or guards, I was too lazy to redo them. WARNING: Do NOT open lower level doors when they are underwater, because that lets the water in (bad). There are no bilge pumps so like, don't sink or whatever. WARNING: I am NOT responsible for damages caused by you being a big dumb-dumb. Do NOT be a big dumb-dumb. PERFORMANCE WARNING: This thing is big and it has a lot of lights. This will probably lag some computers and public servers probably won't like it too much. Be not foolish. Be wise.
