my replication of the big boy. i did my best to stay to life scale however it more of a 1.3-1 scale, the wheel sets independently turn as the big boy dose in real life. it practically noodles down the track.
The Big Boy could achieve more than 6,000 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful steam locomotives ever built. In 1943 tests, a Big Boy produced 6,290 drawbar horsepower at 41.4 mph.
top speed can be up to 200 mph while using the functional decor button
under its own steam it cruses at 80 mph and can sprint to 120 during full pressure
very simple to run you just have to set the steam pressure, set boiler temps to 104-111 wait for pressure to build and play with the fire temp for faster start up.
while moving the train you have to give pressure to each drive train (front steam + rear steam levers)
there is also a chaff lever that recycles steam back into the boilers acting like a supper charger just ensure the chaff pressure is lower that the steam store tanks if not the train will slow down and attempt to run backwards.
the structural failure of the boiler under excessive heat and pressure will cause a massive exciting explosion
