The Ferdinand was a German WWII tank destroyer armed with a powerful 88 mm gun, built on the Porsche Tiger chassis. First used at Kursk in 1943, it excelled at long-range attacks but suffered from poor mobility and lacked close-defense weapons. Later improved versions were renamed Elefant.
