43m Open Sea Japanese Ferry "Himeshima Maru No 2"

The Tale of Himeshima Maru No 2 The Ferry That Used To Dominate The Sawyer Isles In the early 1990s, a new ferry was under construction at the Usuki Shipyard in Japan. Work commenced on September 9, 1991, and by March 19, 1992, the ship was prepared for launch. She received the name Himeshima Maru No. 2, a functional vessel with a straightforward objective: link the port of Imi on Kyūshū to Himeshima Island. To the residents of those tiny villages, the ferry represented more than merely a vessel. She became integrated into their everyday routines transporting students to school, shopkeepers and fishermen to the market, and families across the open sea. Prior to her arrival, travel was challenging, but after she began her service, the island and mainland seemed more connected than ever. Following years of consistent effort, her position in Japan gradually diminished as more recent ships arrived. Rather than being retired, she was acquired by Sawyer Marine Transportation Corporation renamed Sawyer Shuttle Ferry 21(she was bought back in 2015), A new modern Himeshima Maru No 2 replaced her. With new ownership, she departed far from her original waters and was assigned a new course to the scattered Irish Island of Sawyer, began her new assigned route from Terminal Spycakes to Terminal Camodo. In this new environment, the ferry became significant again, transporting laborers and locals daily. She performed her tasks silently and dependably, just as she always had. However, once a railway bridge was finally constructed to link the two terminals, her service became unnecessary. After the bridge that connects from Terminal Camodo to Terminal Spycakes, she was relocated to North Harbor to enter service again as the captain doesn't want it to be "useless" she was there again to operate, and till now she is still operating in the same area. For them, Himeshima Maru No. 2 represented more than just a steel vessel it was the connection that united two communities prior to the advent of larger projects and quicker transportation. Her tale is straightforward, yet it demonstrates how even small vessels can significantly impact people's lives, not just once, but on two separate occasions in different regions of the globe Sawyer Facts !
