What it does:

[*] [b]Quick Caravan Button[/b]
Select any colonist and click “Form Caravan” — they’ll start forming one solo, right away. No messing with the world map or caravan dialog.
[*] [b]Update Hitching Spot[/b]
While a caravan is forming you can update the hitching spot on the fly. Ideal to pack things onto animals at multiple locations.
[*] [b]Pick Your Exit[/b]
While a colonist is forming a caravan, you can select exactly where they should leave the map. Avoid danger, exit smart.
[*] [b]Force Caravan to Leave[/b]
Want the caravan to just go now? Click a button, send the memo. No more endless waiting.

Feature details:

[*] Adds a button on the pawns UI to from a caravan immediately. It will use the pawns current position as the initial hitching spot and wait for orders on the world map once formed. Once forming a caravan there will be three additional buttons on the caravaning pawns UI:
[*] "Set hitching spot" Sets a new hitching spot location. Usefull if you need to pack stuff onto animals at multiple locations. Can be used at any time.
[*] "Set exit spot" Sets the spot where the caravan will leave the map. Usefull to evade enemies in emergency situations. Can be used at any time.
[*] "Caravan go!" Forces the caravan to skip packing the rest of the stuff and just take the animals, if any, and go. Also usefull for emergency situations. If you are taking downed pawns on your caravan be sure to carry them to the exit spot manually. Otherwise the caravan won't take them!
[*] Mod settings menu where you can enable or disable each feature individually to suit your playstyle

Game bugs fixed with this mod:

[*] "Load x onto caravan" float menu command would normally load things only onto pack animals when any where assigned to the caravan, not onto the colonist themselves. When the animals where "full" you couldn't pack any more stuff. This mod fixes this by putting additional things into the pawns inventory as soon as the animal with the most free space has less than 2 weight units of space left.
[*] Downed pawns would be carried to a location too far away from the map edge and wouldn't be taken by the caravan.
[*] If you carried a downed pawn manually that belongs to a caravan, the game would bug out with errors when the caravaning pawns wanted to carry the downed pawn to the exit. This is now fixed by skipping that pawn if it is being manually carried. You can still take downed pawns by carrying them to the caravan exit manually before the caravan leaves. You can delay the cravan from leaving in this case by drafting any caravan pawn before they reach the exit spot.

About game version 1.6
I was shocked at fist when game version 1.6 dropped only two weeks after I finally released this mod, and it said right on the front page "caravan improvements". I had been working on this mod for a long time, and now it would be [b]obsolete after only two weeks? ...[/b]
[b]... Luckily that is not the case, this mod is still very relevant for 1.6![/b]

[*] The game bugs this mod fixes aren't fixed (yet) in 1.6
[*] Most of the features this mod adds are still not in the base game
[*] The [b]Caravan go![/b] button from this mod has been duplicated by the [b]Force caravan departure[/b] in version 1.6, but I think the [b]Caravan go![/b] button actually does it better: It will take you caravan animals if any (just remove them from the caravan if you don't want them) and the decision is not final! You can still go ahead and set another packing spot and pack more things, etc.

So I am happy to say that the mod has successfully been ported to version 1.6 now. Happy caravaning!
Compatibility:
This mod should be relatively compatible. I don't expect any conflicts, unless you have another mod that also modifies the caravan forming/packing process. If you don't need specific patches you can disable them in the mod menu, which might help with compatibility if you are running into problems. You can should be able to remove the mod without problems, just make sure that no caravan is forming at that moment. Caravans traveling on the world map are fine.
