AutoGearShifter

This controller will automatically shift up in gears to find the sweet spot in RPM that you want. It automatically shifts up until it gets the engine between the rps that you set. It has 2 modes: Speed and Tow. Speed mode: Shifts up until it finds the sweet spot. (shifts back down when necessary) Tow Mode: Shifts up until it finds the sweet spot, then shifts back down as you gain speed with a heavy load, as the engine no longer needs that gear ratio to maintain speed. The best part? It will shift all the way back down to gear 1, then switches and uses the Speed gears to increase speed further. If you only want it for a vehicle that won't tow things, then just don't build the tow gears and don't use the Tow input. Tip: Tow gears face towards wheels/props, speed gears face the engine. This is in the description as well. How to set it up? Build an engine setup like in the thumbnail. You need two trains of rps piping. One train has 4 gears and a clutch facing the engine, the other has 4 and a clutch facing away. Both use a common reverse. Place all required buttons per the output nodes required on the controller. Make sure all of your gears are in order, one after the other ratio wise. This controller uses the 4 gears to create 13. For example, a 2:1 combined with a 3:2 creates a ratio of 3:1. It engages no gears for "1st gear" and works all the way up to all gears active at once, if the engine needs that much. So since they multiply, you need to keep each gear only one step of a higher ratio than the previous, or else it can kill your engine when it shifts. What about reverse? It only goes into or out of reverse if you are moving slower than a speed of 1, so stop the vehicle and then hold S to reverse. Same goes for switching to forward gears. The starter will automatically engage for a moment when the RPS gets too low, so when accelerating with a heavy tow it may try to die but the controller won't let it. I built this as an final gear shifter for any normal build I make because I got sick of making them. It's amazing, but I only spent maybe 12 hours building and testing it, so test things when you put it on your vehicle to ensure your build won't kill it. Find any bugs? Comment and I may come back and fix them. I can't add much more to the script as it is nearly full, though.
