Simmersons dual 5 Cylinder Steam Engine
The Simmerson´s dual 5 Cylinder Steam Engine is a Steam Engine designed around 5 Medium Steam Pistons for each Engine half. The Engine is best suited for Ships with dual Propellers. The Engine was originally designed for a Ship with a fuel tank underneath the Engine room, but it can also be adapted to other configurations. if placed and connected to a Ship, this Engine will activate as soon, as the Ship is spawned. Furnace and Boiler Temperature as well as the maximum Steam Pressure are automaticly regulated
Connection:
To make it work, the Engine has to be connected to at least, fuel, Air, Exhaust and Coolant. To make it easier, all necessary connections are Colour coded:
Black=Exhaust
White=Steam (for the Whistles)
Grey=Air
Dark Blue=Coolant
Medium Blue= Sea Water for desalination)
Light blue=Fuel
Orange=power
All blue Connections can be found at the bottom side of the front of the Engine. The orange connections are located at the back, the white Connection is at the top of the middle, and the Grey and Black connections are at the top of the front to middle part.
Operation:
-When the boiler starts to produce steam, set the “Dampffluss” Throttle leavers to 1. This sends the steam to the Pistons.
-for Propulsion set the Throttle Leavers “Gangkupplung” and “Schraubenkupplung” to 1.
- to Increase Speed, activate the Toggle Buttons “Gang 1” and “Gang 2” on top of the Gear boxes.
-To Reverse, activate the “Reverse” Toggle Button on to of the Gearboxes.
-to use the Generator, set the throttle leaver “Generatorkupplung” to 1.
-to deactivate/reactivate the the Coolant for the Condensers, use the Key-Button “Kondensatorkuehlung” (located between the Condensors)
-To release Steam (for example into a Steam Whistle) open the manual valve “Druckablassventil” between the Boiler and the Pistons
-to refill the Freshwater in the Engine, open the Manual valves “Frischwasser”.
-To produce new freshwater, activate the Toggle buttons “Entsalzungsanlage” between the Furnace and the Boiler

Warnings:
-With a Weight of 4318, the engine is not suited for ships with low buoyancy.
