The light ship USS north 2 was built as a replacement for the first USS north light ship. She was finished 3 years after the first 1 went down after being towed for repairs and sinking due to a storm. The north 2 was stationed around wall point on the west coast, south west of washington. only 2 months into her service she has to rescue the ss more after she split in a storm in 1951. in 1961 she was rammed by the ss. Southwood causing major damage to both ships and causing both ships to sink right after, her crew was soon rescued and both hulls were found after 23 years of searching in 1984, taking 3/7 of her crew down with her.
