I present to you the “Animal Trap” mod, which adds a new kind of trap to the game.
While playing as trappers or tribal colonies, I felt there was something missing — a simple snare trap for small animals. This allows you to not only supply your colony with a steady trickle of food, but also with furs. The trap is cheap and easy to build, but be careful — some of your tamed animals might stick their noses where they shouldn't!
When the trap is triggered, the animal will be restrained and unable to move for a while. It will be marked for hunting. If no hunter comes in time, it will eventually break free and escape. If you want to release the poor creature — that’s easy too: just heal it up.
Important note! The trap works by attracting animals — after being placed, animals may become interested and get caught, or they might just wander nearby for a while and even leave. It’s almost like real life. I usually place them about 10–15 tiles apart.
