AS-36 “Bester”
is a deep-sea rescue vehicle designed for saving crews of emergency submarines.

Project: initially 18270 “Bester”, after modernization — 18271 “Bester-1”

Dimensions: length – 12 meters, width – 3.2 meters, height – 5 meters
Technical capabilities:
Maximum operating depth: 720 meters
Capacity: up to 22 people
Feature: possibility of evacuation with a roll of a sunken submarine up to 45 degrees
Rescue methods: both “dry” and “wet” methods (up to 60 meters)
The vehicle is equipped with a modern life support and navigation system. Its regular carrier is the rescue vessel “Mikhail Rudnitsky”. The AS-36 is also capable of performing underwater technical operations, including searching and inspecting underwater objects at depths of up to 1000 meters.
