Jute VPE More Plants fabric
Are you like me? First of all, sorry to hear that, I hope you get well soon. Secondly, that means you like to make things difficult for your colony and then go and get mods to make it easier because it's really boring.
If you, like me, have [url=https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2748889667]VPE More Plants[/url] and [url=https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1931453053]More Vanilla Biomes[/url] and decided to play on a sand bar or in a lake or something, you may have been disappointed by the lack of a cloth plant that grows in the sand and water grow zones added by that mod. Well your disappointment ends now. Introducing:
Jute(s)*
Jute(s)* are fiber crops that, a bit like flax, are less popular these days for cloth because they're not as suited to industrial ♥♥♥♥ as cotton. They are still used to make burlap around the subcontinent and asia, though, and are used around the world for... fake wood? And like pulp and stuff.
Get to the point!
This mod adds 3 new plants (more like 1 but I was being difficult):
Jute
A tall, reedy sort of plant grown in shallow water, the skin and core can be threshed (or simply harvested if you're playing rimworld) into a cloth that's very similar to rimworld cloth but slightly beige, slightly less pretty, and slightly better at insulating aganst heat than cold. Hard to sow like other water crops, and takes a bit longer to grow that cotton (9 days instead of 8).
Velvetleaf Jute
It's Jute again but it grows in regular soil.
Kenaf
Technically not so much a variety of Jute, but it's real similar and works much the same way. It takes noticeably longer to grow (11 days) but isn't as hard to sow as other sand crops.
Options
There's an (XMLExtensions) option to just turn the Jute(s)* into cloth instead of Jute Cloth if you want. And you can change the amount of time each of the Jute(s)* takes to grow.
Compatibility?
I assume so but if it doesn't work with something you can let me know and I'll consider fixing it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics?
Yeah, a fair criticism. In my defence, I'm a terrible artist, and I drew them very quickly, by hand, in GIMP. So... shrug emoji. Updated the immature image (shrunk it) and now I'm much happier with it. But I'm keeping this section so that the next one makes sense.
Censorship?
I like swearing and apparently steam doesn't? Must be that christian lobby that pressured mastercard and visa into telling valve to stop selling pornography.

- changed the default time it takes Jute(s)* to grow because gazelles ate all my Kenaf and it took like 90 days on a new colony to grow any Jute
-- relatedly: turned nutrition down because i put it way too high
- added an option to change growth time (you can now choose between 5 and 25 for each variety) because why not?
- moved [url=https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=3452955789]Cotton Balls[/url] compatibility to that mod so that I didn't have to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the xml
*as mentioned: Kenaf is not technically a variety of Jute, just a very similar plant.
