with permission. With Mlie's OK, and the last update done, this is v1.6 ready. The other version is for previous Rimworld versions.
I've made some significant changes:
* Retextured: Heater, Aspi, Buckler, Nord Shield, Kite Shield.
* Many shields can now be built of wood or metal.
* STUFF will affect the traits.
* Increase Hit Points as these shields take direct damage (like the original mod) and break!
* Rebalenced the equip stats to be more game affecting, but always with balance in mind.
* SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE shields will cover variously more or less of the body. Added some shields covering jaw/eyes as I figured they were quick to move and people cover their faces, for example.
I removed:
Assault, Archo, Riot, and Tactical shields. There was no way through stats that I could justify why they existed.
The Royal shield was kept as a sort of Glitter world shield, likely to be used by duelists with monoblades. Changed "Crusader" shield into a Heater style shield.
Also removed a lot of redundant XML code, and code that did nothing.
Now there are stronger reasons why you might choose to build each type. A pavisse will slow you down a lot, but is tough, while a buckler will increase your dodge skills (that's how it is used, right?), for example.
