Point Cape Light - Caisson lighthouse

History Designed in 1901, Work on her began in 1903, and she was Finished in 1905. She was a Caisson type lighthouse. She was build to replace the old Lightships that often got swept onto the rocks in high gales. She was a modern lighthouse, Equipped with her own Wireless set, However during high gales the wireless antenna had to be stored inside to avoid frying the set. She had a pretty calm career up until 1913, When during high gale, the 3 keepers got scared that she would collapse and left in the boat, Never to be seen again alive, One body washed up on Donkk. She was automated in 1959, And In service up until 1989, when she was replaced by a bouy while repairs on the lighthouse were carried out. She was back in service the following year. She is still in use to this day. Requirements Have inf Electric off How to operate When you enter the only working lights are staircase lights, To get the Electric lights working Go downstairs and into the Boiler / Dynamo room, and turn on the Breakers. The button to turn on the Main light (As in the lantern) is in the room underneath the Lantern room. The fog horn button is in the general area. along with a clock for timing, To use the fog bell you must climb the stairs to get to the room underneath the lantern room, and go out onto the "Promonade" by using the hatch, on one side you will find the bell. Equipment 3 Electric lights. 4 Gas lamps. 1 Lense. 2 fog horns (Put together to form one) 1 fog bell 1 small working boat A cargo davit Light Keepers As a keeper on Point Cape light, you stay 6 months on the light, 6 months at home. This is due to the area being dangerous for resupply ships to navigate, you are a crew of three, but with only 2 bunks due to a watch cycle, As a keeper on Point cape you MUST have wireless experience, as we have been equipped with a fancy Wireless set, there is enough food for 12 months (incase your resupply ship wrecks). you get a large supply of coal, 1 stove with 2 cook plates, and 1 heater. Your one job is to keep the light going. A simple yet brutal task.
