The S.S joe was a cargo ship built in 1926 in the US. She was built to carry cargo from Alaska to the West coast of the US. in 1937 her cargo of wood caught fire, killing a crew member and causing damage to the ship, in 1938 she was back to the waves. In 1942 she was torpedoed off the coast of Alaska, taking 3 of her 6 crew down with her.
