Medieval Starts is a mod that lets you have a starting Medieval tech level. Starting scenarios have existed for tribals and outlanders for ages, but only mods (primarily custom race mods) have implemented their own 'medieval' starts.
This mod stands as a template to work off of for people wanting to make Medieval-tech scenarios. Similar to "New Tribe" and "New Colonist" options in the scenario builder, you can now pick "New Vassals" to tell the game your scenario is a Medieval start when making your own scenarios.
[b]This mod does not do a whole lot on its own other that provide a way for you to start at Medieval Tech. A default scenario has been provided to show an example of what a Medieval start would look like[/b]

For Modders
If you want scenarios from your mod to start at the medieval tech level, you can modify or include the [i]playerFaction[/i] tag in the scenario def to look something like this:

If you want to include your research as already unlocked whenever starting a medieval run, you can add the following tag to the ResearchDef: [i]MedievalStart[/i]

Compatibility
Safe to add mid-save but this only affects starting faction tech so there's no real point.
This mod was designed out of the box to work with ferny's amazing [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3301868772]Progression Series[/url] of mods.
I recommend to also use [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3505290557]Semi-random research[/url] but neither mods are a requirement.
Should work out of the box with [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3219596926]Medieval Overhaul[/url]. I don't normally play with this mod so it is possible some of the research adjustments might cause errors.
If something's not working right, please visit the Bug Reports thread on this page to let me know. I will look at bug reports that include a log, unless the issue is specific researches not appearing on a medieval start (the full list is subjective but if used with mods like Medieval overhaul and something vital is not immediately unlocked that would qualify as a 'bug report')
