1:1 Strath-Class Armed Trawler 1918

1:1 Strath-Class Admiralty Armed Trawler The Strath-Class of Armed Trawlers were designed in early 1915-16 as to increase the minesweeping capability of the Royal Navies fleets, but were small enough to be mass produced at every yard available. They were the smallest of the three classes created for this purpose. However most of the Strath-class did not commission, as the end of the war curtailed the need for so many minesweepers, and as such many were sold while still being built to civilian fishing fleets as standard trawlers.
