Tired of modded armors not having Vacuum Resistance? Want cowboy hats to give 100% Vac resist? VacPatcher adds Odyssey’s VacuumResistance to armor and helmets from other mods. It runs after defs load (load after apparel/armor mods) and, by default, patches “armor-like” apparel (helmets and body armor layers) that do not already define VacuumResistance.
Features:
• Sliders for default offsets (Body armor, Helmets).
• “Other layers” slider (used only for items you explicitly add to Always Apply).
• Guards: Exclude official items (Core + DLC) and Block low-tech (Animal/Neolithic/Medieval/Industrial) using research-aware inference.
• Lists: Always Apply (force apply to chosen items) and Excluded (reset chosen items back to their original values).
• Pickers to add items to the lists, plus “Clear all” for each list.
• “Apply now” button to re-run the patch with current settings.
• Tabbed settings UI for smooth scrolling.
Updated: Added toggle to add tox environment resist and temperature range of vac helmet and vac suit to patched items
Notes on why a piece might be missed or look “wrong”:
• Odyssey not active: the VacuumResistance stat is missing, so nothing is patched.
• Already has VacuumResistance: default patch won’t overwrite existing values; use Always Apply if you want to change it.
• Blocked by guards: official (Core/DLC) items and/or inferred low-tech items are skipped by default.
• Not detected as armor-like: items without armor stats or that sit on unusual layers are not patched by default (use Always Apply).
• Research inference limits: if a mod doesn’t tag tech or research properly, tech may be “unknown”; unknown is allowed, but true low-tech that lacks research markers may slip through or be skipped depending on the mod’s defs.
• Other mods changing stats later: if another mod mutates equippedStatOffsets after VacPatcher runs, results may differ from expectations; use “Apply now” or the lists to correct.
• Reset behavior: “Excluded” restores the snapshot baseline captured on first load, which may differ from values set by mods that load after that snapshot.
This mod is safe to add/remove mid-save, but it only affects defs (not existing items’ saved stats). Re-apply after changing settings.
