Kindred Skies – Pregnancy Tweaks
Kindred Skies – Pregnancy Tweaks
Lightweight, configurable baby-centric storytelling for RimWorld 1.5 & 1.6
Inspired by (and big thanks to) Pregnancy Pack by konstantynopolitaneczka. I loved the vibe but wanted a smaller, focused feature set, so I made this with help from GPT-5 Thinking because I can't code. Yeah, I know... 🍼

Engie was patching up the killbox when the drop pod slammed into the potato field. Onesan ran over yelling, “Please be glitterworld meds!”
It wasn’t.
It was a baby.
No note. No clothes. Just a very loud arrival.
They stared. The baby sneezed.
Onesan declared it a blessing. Engie declared it “someone else’s problem.”
Now the colony has a baby, and nobody knows what to do except panic, argue, and build increasingly elaborate cribs out of uranium.

Features

Newborn Drop Pod — A new incident that drops a baby as a guest. Choice letter with Accept / Reject / Postpone.

Adopt Newborn Gizmo — Closed the letter? Select the baby and click Adopt newborn to welcome them.

Pregnant Raiders — Small, configurable chance that hostile humanlike females spawn pregnant. Early→mid stage only (never “about to pop”) and only of reproductive life stage.

Fertility Blessing — A gentle, configurable map-wide fertility buff.

Xenotype Options — Babies can be Baseliners or roll a xenotype: weighted by your colonists or random from all. Baseline % slider included.

Sliders & Toggles — Enable/disable each feature. Tune incident chances, min refire days, pregnancy chance & stage range, blessing duration, etc.
Randy says it builds character.
Does this replace vanilla events?
No, this adds a new incident. Vanilla rescue/drop-pod events still occur.
Compatibility

Requires Harmony.

Biotech recommended (xenotypes & pregnancy use Biotech). Without Biotech, newborns default to Baseliners and pregnant raiders auto-disable.

Should play fine with storytellers/incident packs.

If baby faces look “floaty” (extra eyes/brows), that’s a facial/overlay mod—check its options to disable overlays on infants.

Settings (Mod Options → Kindred Skies – Pregnancy Tweaks)

Feature toggles: Pregnant raiders, Newborn drop pod, Fertility blessing

Pregnant raider chance, “hostile humanlikes only,” reproductive-stage requirement, pregnancy stage range (early→mid)

Newborn Baseline %, Xenotype source (Colonists weighted / All xenotypes)

Incident base chance & min refire days

Blessing duration (days)

Save Compatibility
Safe to add to existing saves. Removing is usually fine; active incidents/hediffs will just run their course.

FAQ

Letter shows a key or is blank? Restart the game after updating (translations load on startup).

Can babies auto-join? They arrive as guests. Accept via the letter or the gizmo.

Pregnant raiders late-stage? This mod caps to early→mid. If another mod changes severity on spawn, tell me and I’ll add a patch.

Bug reports / suggestions

Please include: what happened, what you expected, the red error line(s), and a screenshot of your mod list.

Known quirk: baby face overlays usually come from visual/overlay mods. Just disable overlays for infants in that mod’s settings.
