Suborbital Booster (No DLC needed!)
This three-stage rocket can get you very high but not quite orbital. It was designed for players without the Space DLC who like playing with rockets anyway. Be careful when going straight up though, you will hit an invisible ceiling at 20 km ASL.

The parachute deploys automatically below 1000 m ASL, although you can always deploy it manually.
Below 1000 m ASL, the spacecraft will abort automatically if you descend faster than -20 m/s vertical speed, although you can always abort manually.
The gantry retracts automatically when you press "INITIATE LAUNCH SEQUENCE".
