This mod adds an alternative to soil fertility improvement that lets you produce and pollute.
The rich soil pump is a type of moisture pump (remember that machine?) that lets you convert various types of soil into rich soil in exchange for pollution.
Rich Soil Pump
Description: "Slowly enhances fertility in nearby terrain, converting soil and stony soil into rich soil. Although it has a built in soil content analyzer to precisely measure the fertilizers needed for the soil, the process still require various kinds of chemicals that run off and contaminate the rich soil, so they need to be cleaned."
Research requirement: Moisture Pump
Cost: 75 Steel, 4 Components, 1 Advanced Component* (Exact same cost as normal moisture pump plus the advanced component)
Terrain Conversion Range: 6.9 (Exact same as normal moisture pump)
Time to Reach Max Range: 6.9 Days (Much faster than normal moisture pump)
*Using the same mechanic that vanilla shuttles use to drop their engine, [b] the advanced component always drops when the pump is deconstructed. [/b] You will be able to reuse the advanced component once the pump is finished working.
Also, while I set it up in such a way that the pollution and rich soil conversion reach the max range at the same time and the pump won't pollute outside the max range, it will still continue to pollute even after the full range is reached. So if you left it working past 6.9 days and keep cleaning its polluted tiles, it'll just continue to pollute more.
This mod isn't intended to speed up moisture pumps as there are other mods that already does that, but I hope with this mod, there will be more incentive to moisture pump water tiles instead of just building heavy bridges over them while providing an interesting and balanced trade off (there aren't much use of pollution besides mechs and power).
