Description
The USS Poseidon is a high speed attack submarine intended for recon and strategic strikes against enemy vessels. It's electric generator allows for an unlimited range when conducting operations, and with a top speed of 160 knots, it can be swiftly deployed to any location.
Features
Radar/Sonar
The Poseidon uses a Phalanx radar as well as a combination of both passive and active sonar to allow for easy acquisition and targeting of enemy vessels.
Modern Navigation
Equipped with Depth Hold (both static and active) Terrain Follow, Autopilot, and an Anti-Collision system that allow for safe and easy navigation through the unforgiving depths.
Maneuvering Props
Even though the Poseidon is a larger submarine, it has great stability and maneuverability thanks to its 10 prop stabilizers that allow for precise movements and tight turns.
Radio Station and Scanner
Not only is the Scanner capable of scanning 9,999 frequencies and identifying up to 3 active ones, it can also be used to jam which makes it particularly useful in disabling RC vehicles. Additionally, the radio station allows for communication with other vessels and for easy operation of RC vehicles.
Torpedoes
Included are 6 sonar tracking torpedoes that are capable of reaching targets both on and below the surface up to 4 km away.
Docking Hatch
Located on the underside of the bow, the docking hatch allows for other smaller vessels to be used in conjunction with the Poseidon.
Air Scrubber
The onboard Air Scrubber maintains a safe air pressure and Oxygen level for the crew to operate while submerged.
Stats
Mass- 33,918
Length- 48.5 m
Width-5.25 m
Height- 6.5 m
Top Speed- 160 knots
Range- Unlimited
Generator Output- 24,000 SW
Operation
TURN OFF INFINITE ELECTRIC
Startup-Turn on Air Scrubber, Systems and Electronics, Manual Generator Start, and Start Generator. (Located on the left wall panel when entering the bridge) Next wait for the boiler to reach operating Temperature. (Audible tone will play when reached) Now the Sub is ready to Operate.
Navigation-In order to have optimal maneuverability the ballast tank must be filled to max. This will bring the sub to neutral buoyancy. When using depth hold the sub will use the control surfaces while moving and the stabilizer props when static. Terrain follow keeps the sub at a set distance (Depth Hold Keypad) from the ocean floor and only works when moving. The anti collision system is defaulted to off, and when activated will apply the prop brake if collision is imminent with an object below or in front of the sub.
If there are any questions or concerns regarding this vehicle please feel free to leave a comment and I will do my best to answer/resolve them.
