When idle, colonists spend their time on recreation, not wandering
Of course, they'll still work when there's work to do, eat when hungry, and sleep when tired. You can see them enjoying various recreational activities all day in the attached YouTube video.
- Joy stops increasing at 87.5%: This is normal and intentional.
