[i]The player is not notified when a crime occurs, so keep an eye out![/i] Both colonists and guests/traders convicted of crimes can be jailed without affecting relations. Use your colony’s leader to interrogate suspects, bring them before the colony in a ritual trial, and sentence them to a set, configurable amount of time imprisoned. Want to beat the sh*t out of them instead? There’s a precept for that. [hr] ADDS 5 RECOGNIZED CRIMES which can happen as events, or as part of mental breaks: [b][list] [*] Arson- Self explanatory! You can prosecute pyromaniacs. [*] Sabotage- When a pawn breaks something on purpose. Includes tantrums. Particularly sneaky criminals can break down machinery. [*] Theft- No longer is it safe to let every trader pass straight through your vault. They might just take something to their inventory. Colonists can steal too, but you’ll recover their haul when you catch them. [*] Assault- Pawns can pick fights with their enemies, and social brawls can be tried. [*] Murder- A murderous mental break can be prosecuted. When a murder occurs as an event, the murderer targets their enemy and tries to discreetly attack them, past downing and until death. [/list] [/b] [hr] TRIAL SYSTEM Trials are held by the colony leader. They are more likely to succeed based on social skill, as well as how many witnesses saw the crime. If the trial fails, that’s it, no double jeopardy. If it succeeds at average quality, they serve the sentence for each crime they’ve committed. An extra persuasive trial results in extra prison time. You can release a prisoner at any time, at which point they are pardoned and the sentence is wiped. You can also interrogate a pawn if you suspect them, producing a very helpful confession. Overall sentence length can be changed via ideoligious precept. [hr] COMPATIBILITY/PERFORMANCE This mod is still being tested, but no incompatibilities have shown up yet on a modlist with 330 mods. Feel free to comment if you encounter issues or anything that looks off, or if you have suggestions/ideas for the mod. Ideology is required. The crime tracking is pretty lightweight so there shouldn't be a heavy burden on performance. Rap sheets are specific to the colony so pawns never arrive with preexisting criminal histories. Besides that, random events, mental breaks and ideo functions should not impact performance. [hr] AI STATEMENT No AI was used to code RW Law and Order.
