It is actually the front two axle truck that provides power via the third rail providing electric.
The middle two are decorative and detached from the rail by default to reduce binding on corners.
The rear axle of the locomotive are actual trailing guide wheels for the engine.
Limited rescue/emergency equipment in the cab, but lots of seating thanks to the passenger car.
