Introduction
The H-18 Pioneer, a revolutionary new helicopter, was purpose-built for carrying marines into the heat of battle. A spacious passenger compartment and sliding door for fast disembarkation, plus a high cockpit for long-range visibility, makes this helicopter well suited for marine "hot drops" directly into a combat zone. Its swift speed allows it to also quickly disengage from an engagement and return to a safe area quickly. Several rope anchors on the bottom allow for cargo to be carried too. Although it does not carry armament, it is the workhorse of marine transport.
