Yer-2 Bomber
Description
The Yermolayev Yer-2 was a Soviet long-range bomber used during World War II. Designed by Vladimir Yermolayev, it first flew in 1940 and was based on an earlier passenger aircraft, the Bartini Stal-7. The Yer-2 could carry a heavy bomb load over long distances, making it useful for deep strikes against German targets. However, it suffered from weak engines, limited defensive armament, and reliability issues. Despite these flaws, it played an important role in early-war bombing missions, including raids on Berlin in 1941.
