The Alantic 3 was built for the Ohio oil Co in NY in 1953 for transporting oil from its oil fields to industries around the world. She could carry 140,000 L of oil. In 1956 she saved the crew of the S.S Larry when she sank off the coast of NJ. In 1973 after taking over 60 million L of oil she was under tow after engines broke down, her line snapped and she went adrift for 2 weeks before she was taken back to the states and was scrapped due to her engines being broken and her being so old.
