The CH-149Q "Frogmouth" is a heavy lift navel helicopter in service with all of the branches of the ODF. The Q variant is the latest of the long serving family with a redesigned cargo bay, Glass cockpit, OTI Head Mounted Display 2 and all wet hardpoints for extended range.
Lore
The CH-149 was originally developed as a replacement for the UH-103 under SEA-4100 but as the programs requirements changed, eventuality being more in lined with a heavy lift helicopter rather then medium patrol, it was shelved in favor of an upgrade program for the UH-103. But the airframe still held much promise a new development contract was signed to OHI for 2 experimental designs, (AIR-4210 and AIR-4220). AIR-4210 became YH-149 an early CH-149. AIR-4220 only made one design and completely overblowing budget and time requirements, YH-150 a stealthy much larger platform but was 5 times the price of the whole YH-149 program. AIR-4210 was chosen being further developed into the CH-149A.
