DESCRIPTION
The F-81C is a medium range all weather interceptor, originally designed as a long range escort fighter. The increasing speed of Usean bombers such as the B-42A Wraith and B-80D Tornado made this requirement redundant. As a result the F-81A was redesigned into the F-81C, with more powerful after-burning J60 turbofan engines, heavily swept wings and a lower fuel capacity. This allowed the aircraft to achieve a phenomenal rate of climb and high top speed
This aircraft features 4 RM-16 SRAAMs housed in an internal weapons bay as well as 2 external hard points (seen here IRM-16s), 2x 20mm cannons w/ 200 rounds out the aircraft's armament.
