After much research I found out that they only hunt when they're hungry and there's no food in the marked hive area. This fixes that and forces them to hunt marked wildlife along with implementing pack hunting mechanics! I created this mod for myself, but as I saw several comments in the VFEI2 thread, thought that I should add this to the interwebs for everyone to use. Hunter-designated insectoids (VFE Insectoids 2) will immediately hunt any wildlife you mark with the [i]Hunt[/i] designation anywhere on the map while still respecting needs (eat/sleep). Adult-only gating, optional pack hunting, and a performance-friendly prey cache + filter (off by default). Save-game safe.
