SARR AC6000CW in Meier Railroad Colors 4600
HISTORY
The AC6000CW is recognized worldwide as one of the most powerful single-unit single-engine locomotives ever produced. MRR 4600 is one of these locomotives. Built in mid-1997, 4600 was the first of these "big stoopids" delivered to MRR, as well as the class leader. Factory painted into the AR2 livery, 4600 found a lot of work on heavy coal drags and long freights, but also the occasional Office Car Special. Just like the other AC6000CWs, the 4600 class on MRR had moderate to severe reliability issues. However, unlike other railroads of the time, MRR persevered and managed to get the locomotives to a suitable reliability stat without derating them.
SERVICE
The locomotive has seen 750,000+ miles of service since she was modernized in 2004, following a program to make the locomotive series more reliable.
STARTUP
It follows the same startup procedure as the SARR AC6000CW that it is built upon.
