The John was built in the US in 1942 to help fuel Britain during ww2. She made 3 crossings before her convoy got into trouble with a u-boat, sinking 2 in her convoy and he picked up 6 survivors. In 1944 she was torpedoed and sank of the coast of Italy while refueling another tanker. 7 went down with her.
