MS Jan heweliusz (MODDED)

M/S Jan Heweliusz "A tired old Baltic workhorse with a tragic final chapter." Built: 1977 Shipyard: Trosvik, Norway Type: Ro-Ro passenger and freight ferry Recreation by: Gusti
About the Real Ship Jan Heweliusz wasn’t a glamorous cruise liner. She was a hardworking Baltic ferry that spent her life doing the same routine crossings between Poland and Sweden. For years she carried passengers, trucks, and cargo through rough seas and winter storms. But age, heavy use, and many repairs slowly took their toll. The ship had been damaged, patched, repaired again, and sent back to service more times than the crew could count. Many people on board believed she wasn’t in the shape she should be in. On the 14th of January 1993, while battling brutal conditions south of Rügen, the Jan Heweliusz capsized and sank, taking many lives with her. It remains one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters in modern European history. This Stormworks build isn’t made to sensationalize that tragedy, but to honor the ship, the crews who sailed her, and the passengers who should have made it safely to port.
About This Stormworks Version This is a detailed recreation of Jan Heweliusz as she likely appeared near the end of her career. It includes: • Fully modeled decks • Bridge and control systems • Passenger spaces and cabins • Engine room and technical areas • Realistic lighting and electrics • Flooding, stability, and failure simulation • Fully sinkable The ship can be operated normally and is capable of stable sailing, but—just like her real counterpart—rough seas and bad decisions can have consequences. The intention is to recreate the feeling of being on an older ship pushed hard through difficult conditions. She can be saved… or lost.
In-Game Experience The ferry is best used with waves and storm conditions, and she is most authentic when you have to constantly keep an eye on systems, stability, and weather. Nothing is handed to you—you need to sail her the way crews once had to. She can run well if maintained and handled properly… and she can fail spectacularly if she’s not.
