Extra Armor For Cinder

Although this is an enhancement for Cinder, this mod also provides an 'Amorphous Matter Solution' that can be used by others to gain a weaker version of the regenerating armor. Can be added to an existing save. Features special support for the Ancient Amorphous Threat Mod. The Boss has a much stronger armor, which remains even after you turn her into a friendly unit.
Do you feel that the Cinder race (from Cinders of the Embergarden) is a bit weak? Maybe you don't, but I think they are a little underpowered compared to other race mods. Following the original mod's simple tech tree style, the enhancement provided by this mod is very straightforward: It provides all pawns with the Cinder gene an extra regenerating armor with 50 initial hitpoints. This armor can be further upgraded using the two types of armor plates from the original mod, with each type allowing up to five upgrades. While this might not sound like a huge buff, believe me, it's much stronger than you think—especially when you encounter hordes of hostile Cinder early in the game.
Extra Armor Abilities (using the standard, initial Cinder armor as an example): • High-Speed Regeneration (10% HP/sec): Activates after not taking damage for a period, rapidly restoring the armor. • Suppressed Regeneration (2% HP/sec): Activates after taking damage. The armor regenerates slowly and will switch to high-speed mode after a period of not being hit (initially 20 seconds). • Reboot Sequence: Activates when the armor is completely broken. The armor becomes inactive for a period (initially 20 seconds), then reboots and instantly restores 30% of its maximum HP to prevent being broken again immediately. • Innate Resistance: The armor itself has high damage resistance, making it more effective than a shield belt with the same HP. Upgrading it also increases an additional 'independent damage resistance'.
Special Item: Amorphous Matter Solution, an expensive craftable item made from materials from the Cinder mod. Usage: Grants the user a degraded version of the armor with 35 initial hitpoints. It is indeed slightly weaker than the normal version, but given its impressive defensive capabilities, it's still well worth it. Changes to the Original Mod: The crafting cost of both types of armor plates has been significantly increased (nearly doubled). Crafting them yourself can be a lengthy process. The one-time armor bonus provided by extra armour plates is increased to 60, and for heavy armour plates to 100, to compensate for the increased material cost. This also means enemies will be tougher, as they often spawn with these plates. (After the regenerating armor is fully upgraded, using more armor plates will grant a temporary armor bonus as usual. For example, a pawn with max-level armor will gain 100 temporary armor from using a heavy armour plate).
Q&A Q: CE? A: No patch needed. The armor functions more like a shield belt, so it's naturally compatible. Q: This shield seems weak. Is this buff really necessary? A: Try it and find out. Q: Wait, why does this shield feel so powerful? Is this the Wailing Wall? A: Actually, due to some 'Orky' level coding, this shield is far tankier than you'd think. At max level, it might show 150 HP, but its effective health is around 600—and it can block lasers that normally penetrate shield belts, and even resist burns! Q: Balance? A: The enemies get stronger too, so it's balanced. Q: For some reason, the armor on the Boss from the Ancient Amorphous Threat mod seems much stronger than advertised... A: This mod includes a patch for Glitterworld Destroyer 5. When that mod is active, the Boss's armor value is significantly increased to match its intensity. Q: Isn't it too overpowered? A: There are configuration options. You can adjust the armor value from 50% to 300%. Q: Can it be added to an existing save? A: Of course.
