S.S York

The S.S York was made in 1910 in Britain for the Green star line shipping.co. She carried cargo to and from the states to Britain. Just before war was declared in 1914 she was fitted out with storage for ammo in the bow. In 1915 she was shelled by a u-boat, but was able to make steam and outrun it. After the war she went on for 10 more years until 1928. In that year she was blew up at sea after a fire, all of her crew, 6, were able to escape before she exploded.
