Blight Cure by Animals
Turn your critters into field medics. One click, no more blight.
What it does
- Adds a gizmo on blighted plants: “Call Animals: Cure Blight”.
- Your tame colony animals run to blighted crops and cure them (plants are restored to their original, healthy state and keep their growth).
- Animals keep working in a loop until every last blight is gone on the map.
- While the cure task is active, new blight events are blocked (and existing blight spread is slowed), so your herd can finish the job.
Scales with your herd
The more animals you have, the faster the cure wave finishes. Small pack = slower, big herd = a greenfield in seconds. Drafted or downed animals won’t join, but everything else that’s tame and mobile will help.
How to use
- Click any blighted plant → press the gizmo “Call Animals: Cure Blight”.
- Your animals auto-assign themselves to targets and continue until the map is clean.
- You can also keep the Architect/Orders button as an emergency global call (optional).
Why this is safe
No scary surgery on plant internals. The mod simply despawns the blighted plant and respawns the same plant with the same growth—just without blight. Works with modded crops too.
Compatibility
- Save-game friendly: Add/remove anytime. Existing blight can be cured immediately.
- Should work with most plant/biome mods. The mod detects blight robustly (multiple methods).
- Harmony required.
- Low conflict risk. It only intercepts the vanilla Crop Blight incident while the cure operation is active.
Performance
Very light. Jobs are short, and target assignment is batched. If you own a zoo, it actually helps: more workers = fewer ticks with active blight.
FAQ
Q: Do animals need training?
A: No. If they’re tame, mobile, and on the map, they’ll help.
Q: Will they wander off?
A: The controller keeps re-assigning targets until the map is clean.
Q: Does it heal trees/bushes from other mods?
A: Yes—if they’re plants and get tagged/behave like blighted, they’ll be cured.
Known limitations
- If another mod completely replaces blight with a custom system, results may vary (open an issue and I’ll add a patch).
