Smart gear should learn to pull its own weight, instead of overwhelming four production specialists at the home workbenches. With this mod, weapons and apparel equipped by colonists will improve in quality over time. The longer an item is carried, the higher its chance to upgrade. Calculation formula: Base Chance × (1 + Time Compensation) × (1 + Progress Compensation) October 10, 2025 New Feature: Weapons now upgrade based on kill count, with configurable kill requirements. January 8, 2026 Update: If auto upgrades are enabled but the base chance is set to 0, items will no longer upgrade by random chance. Instead, quality will only improve after being worn for a fixed and hidden duration tied to the pawn. The required days are as follows: Awful → Poor: 3 days Awful → Normal: 12 days Awful → Good: 24 days Awful → Excellent: 56 days Awful → Masterwork: 112 days Awful → Legendary: 200 days
