Instead of a radical new design, the E-3 retained the twin-engine configuration and highly swept wings of the MiG-19 airframe, but had its forward section dramatically upgraded. It incorporated the advanced conical nose intake and avionics suite that would otherwise define the MiG-21, creating a powerful, twin-engined interceptor that went from prototype to widespread service as the USSR's primary frontline fighter. In terms of performance, the twin-engined MiG E-3 was a formidable aircraft, boasting excellent high-altitude performance, a top speed of 1500 Km/H, and an impressive rate of climb thanks to its dual R-11 turbojet engines. While maintaining the agility characteristics of its MiG-19 heritage, its new avionics and armament made it a far more versatile and deadly platform. The MiG entered widespread production in the mid-50s, leading NATO to assign it the reporting name "Fishback." The MiG E-3 quickly became the backbone of Soviet and Warsaw Pact air forces, setting the standard for early supersonic interceptors. Its robust twin-engine design offered redundancy and superior thrust, while the missiles ensured its relevance against evolving threats for over a decade. The E-3 thus carved out a significant niche as a powerful, radar-equipped, twin-engine swept-wing fighter. However, the MiG was not without its drawbacks. Its difficulty in maintenance and piloting has become a serious problem, forcing the command to assign skilled pilots and ground crew to the aircraft. After the revolt in 1951, the All-Union Revolutionary Army rebels (VSRA) used a number of captured early E-3s, which once belonged to the Pacific region air defence forces. This one was modified to incorporate 4 GSh-23-1 cannons rather than 3 of the baseline model. However, it forced the pilot to remove the radar, and install a telescopic gunsight instead. Being the early version, it also has less hardpoints. [hr] Stats and Features [list] [*] Size: 16, 8.25, 3.75m [*] Speed: 1500 Km/H [*] Crew: 1, Pilot [*] Armament: 4 GSh-23-1 cannons, 3 hardpoints. Set flaps to 50° 2. Switch gear 3. Parking brake disengage - OFF Systems Manual The telescopic gunsight: 1. Warm up cathodes - ON 2. Open periscope - ON Fire control systems: 0. [Optional] Arm autocannons - ON 1. Arm hardpoints - ON 2. Scroll using arrows or seat hotkeys 3. Depending on what weapon are you using - use launch mode (Missiles/Bombs) or fire mode (Rockets/Racks). Fire mode is compatible with all channels. Single/series works in pairs APS-5ND sight: You just have to set the range for the ballistic calculator. Max range is 1300m. [hr] Further Notes - if you don't follow the startup procedure 1:1 it kills itself. if it doesn't start, you're the one at fault - the plane has RATO. you can use it to take off faster. - the weapons pack is unavailable yet. when finished, i'll place the link here About the Project The Pacific Front is a Alternate History Project about the time from 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation..
