A few Mesoamerican weapons for tribal colonies!
These weapons are powerful options for the neolithic tech level. They are intended to help level the playing field between tribals and their better-equipped enemies! All weapons are unlocked via new research projects. These weapons will also spawn on characters and raiders from tribal factions!
Macuahuitl
A heavy wooden greatsword with several sharp blades of metal or stone embedded into it. This gruesome weapon leaves devastating wounds as it hacks and crushes through flesh. A fantastic option for tribal groups fighting against more advanced foes.
Attacks: Blades deal 22 cut damage, Flat deals 20 blunt damage.
Armour Penetration: 30%
Notes: Like a hybridised longsword-club. It's also stuffable if you want to max out the damage values even further!
Cochimitl (sedative blowgun)
A long, hollow tube that is used for shooting darts. While not as powerful as other ranged weapons, the darts are able to be coated in poison. This one uses a non-lethal toxin with sedative effects to incapacitate targets.
Attacks: Dart deals 3 cut damage.
Range: 14 tiles.
Armour Penetration: 4.5%
Notes: Applies a powerful anaesthetic effect to targets. Perfect for capturing a sacrifice!
Tematlatl (stone sling)
Some woven cord with a pouch for holding projectiles. Not to be underestimated, a skilled slinger can hurl stone bullets with tremendous accuracy and power.
Attacks: Sling bullet deals 18 blunt damage.
Range: 38 tiles.
Armour Penetration: 18%
Notes: A long-range neolithic weapon that surpasses the greatbow. Similar accuracy, but damage is more like a bolt-action rifle.
Toximitl (poisonous blowgun)
A long, hollow tube that is used for shooting darts. While not as powerful as other ranged weapons, the darts are able to be coated in poison. This one uses a dangerous toxin that causes a moderate amount of toxic buildup in targets.
Attacks: Dart deals 3 cut damage.
Range: 14 tiles.
Armour Penetration: 4.5%
Notes: Applies toxic buildup to targets. Amount depends on target's bodysize and resistance, but it's about 45% per dart in human-sized targets.
