BACKGROUND
The OMUA SeaBarge is an advanced 2,800 sq ft powered barge built for ocean research and field operations by the Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency (OMUA). Its expansive rear deck features two cranes for equipment handling, while the large internal garage houses a laboratory equipped for sonar analysis and weather buoy data processing. Designed for extended missions, the SeaBarge includes spacious crew quarters with a mess hall, living area, and two cabins. Powered by a marine GTC engine, the vessel can reach speeds of up to 20 knots. Forward pushers allow it to handle BGx standard barges, expanding its operational flexibility. The roof deck supports a RAY LX-28 float helicopter, alongside a SeaDoo, a RedSparo drone, and two deployable weather buoys, making the SeaBarge a versatile platform for marine exploration and research.
