Description
1) keep ghost in hand
When a held item is removed from the inventory, you keep the ghost in your hand.
When you use the pipette tool (Q) and the item is not in your inventory, you get the ghost in your hand.
toggle with CTRL+ALT + G
2) put item in hand
When an item becomes available through crafting or logistic delivery then a held ghost is replaced with its item.
toggle with CTRL+ALT + I
3) put crafted item in hand
When you craft an item and your hand is empty then you will got the crafted item in in your hand.
toggle with CTRL+ALT + C
Original Description from Ghost In Hand
When a last held item is placed (either by you or by your construction robots) normally your hand would be emptied forcing you to pick that item again. This mod changes this behavior, so that when you run out of items, a held item is replaced with its ghost.
This solves a very annoying problem, when trying to build something while within logistic network and bots are resupplying the item slowly, so that every few seconds you run out of that item, it gets removed from your hand and you have to pick it again:

This was reported as bug 68557, but unfortunately the developers consider it an intended behaviour - to give a clear feedback that your item has run out.
Additional the opposite problem is also resolved by this mod.
When an item becomes available through crafting finished or logistic request delivery then a held ghost is replaced with its item.
