Welcome to the sequel to my first ever biome mod! This adds a unique vanilla-friendly Permanent Winter Forest biome with [b]unique Trees, Bushes, and other flora that changes appearance between Summer to Winter![/b] These trees and flora are only exclusive to this biome, and will not conflict with any other biomes, modded or otherwise.
This mod also comes with new harvestable plants that can grow in the winter, and brand new flora textures that follow the same style & quality of mods like ReGrowth 2!
Before I first made Winter Taiga Biome, I was always bothered by Boreal Forests never delivering on the "harsh winters" comment, which was mostly to do with the flora and trees not being covered by snow during winter. So I decided to make my own biome mod to fulfil my own desire of a Winter Forest.
After Odyssey came out, I decided to go the extra mile and remake the entire mod altogether, with updated textures, bugfixes and new additions.

This mod adds 4 new biome exclusive flora, and 2 new harvestable plants.

The ReGrowth series was a major inspiration to this mod.
I would recommend using ReGrowth 2 to keep trees consistent throughout all the biomes, since my mod uses edited textures from that mod.
This mod also patches certain ReGrowth plants & animals to appear in the biome, as well as supports the built in World Map Beautification Project option. Raspberries from the mod will also spawn in the cold soil parts of the biome.

[*] [b] Biome Mods [/b] Should work with any other biome mod, however take note that having too many biomes can sometimes overwrite others in world generation that's 30% or under.

This biome has been patched to have unique stats while settling an Empire colony.
[*] [b] Vanilla Fishing Expanded [/b]
Fishing in the lakes will grant you cold biome fish. If you have Odyssey enabled, the system prioritizes DLC fishing instead.
[*] [b] Vanilla Plants Expanded [/b]
Bearberries from Vanilla Expanded Plants will grow on the Cold Soil parts of the Biome
[*] [b] Vanilla Landmarks Expanded [/b]
I've enabled some landmarks to be allowed to spawn, but I'm still unfamiliar with how it works, so don't be surprised if you encounter anything weird.

The trees that are present within this mod will show up on the world map alongside the hills, mountains and other world tiles. This is also the case with ReGrowth 2's WMBP implementation.

Nope. You can grow these trees with tree sowing, as well as Wintercaps, but otherwise I kept everything exclusive to the biome.

Safe to add, Unsafe to remove. If you add it mid-save, you won't see the biome until you start a new playthrough.
[*] [b] Is this mod compatible with Combat Extended? [/b]

[*] [b] What's the difference between this biome and Boreal forests? [/b]
This biome stands out by granting you access to wood that grows during the winter, and high plant density even during freezing temperatures. The plants are exclusive to this biome only.
There's also a lot of aesthetic changes on how the biome looks compared to the Boreal Forest, such as marshwater being replaced with clean water, ice chunks generating in the biome as well as custom snow and soil terrain.
Overall, I think it fits the winter forest vibe quite well, think of it as a Vanilla+ biome.
