This mod adds a sparring mat where two prisoners fight until only one is left standing. Victors sharpen their melee skills but become more resistant, while losers leave weaker in both skill and resistance. Spectators enjoy the violence.
Ever wonder why people come out of prison so jacked and swole?
Two words: diet and exercise.
But also, fight club.
Damn it. I already broke the first rule.

How to Use It
- Build the Sparring Mat – Found under the "Misc" category in the build menu. Requires 500 fabric or leather and a construction skill of 4. Can only be placed in a prison cell or barracks, and only one can exist per map.
- Start a Fight – Click the mat and select two prisoners from the menu. You can also allow spectators to watch for a mood boost.
- Wait for the Prisoners to Arrive – They will make their way to the mat and prepare for the fight.
- The Fight Begins – They brawl until one is downed (not killed… well, there’s always a chance).
- Combat outcomes in the arena are probabilistic rather than strictly deterministic, ensuring a dynamic experience.
- Fights are mostly decided by melee skill, but there’s always a small chance for an upset.
- The prisoner with the higher melee skill is more likely to win.
- The weaker fighter has a base 15% chance to win.
- This upset probability scales inversely with skill disparity, decreasing by 2% per point of skill difference, with a hard floor of 1%, preserving a sliver of unpredictability in every bout.

Spectators Cheer – Nearby colonists and prisoners (not downed, dead, or in too much pain) will rush to watch. They get a temporary mood boost.
What Happens After the Fight?
- Winner gains XP based on the loser’s melee skill (1,000 XP per level).
- Loser loses 25% of their melee XP.
- Winner becomes harder to recruit(+10% resistance).
- Loser becomes easier to recruit (-10% resistance).
Why Allow Spectators?
- Spectators gain a mood boost for a day, and the effect stacks up to 10 times (but each stack is less effective).
- Colonists and prisoners within 25 tiles will automatically come watch if they qualify.
Additional Details
- How fights start: Once both prisoners arrive, they square up and then start fighting.
- How to start fights manually: You can cancel a fight when the prisoners are en route to the sparring mat but you cannot manually intervene once a fight starts.
- What happens if a prisoner dies? The fight ends early, and the event is canceled.
- Can prisoners refuse to fight? No, if they are selected and able to move, they will fight.
Thank you for supporting Prisoner Fight Club! Feature suggestions and balance tweaks are always welcome.
