Who up pondering they orb rn?
The [b]Palantíri[/b] are orbs of great power from Sophiamunda, made bespoke for the exclusive use of the most prominent royal families. They have become highly sought after on the rim after being introduced into the marketplace by skillful thieves and once great imperial families hitting hard times.
They have a base meditation focus strength of 34%, the same as Animus stones, but they are a Dignity psyfocus like a throne which means room impressiveness matters, so an archmage in a grand tower will get better efficiency than a hedge mage pondering in a hovel. They can be enhanced even more by up to 5 special [b]focusing candles[/b], each giving +2% meditation strength. I have also made them an Artistic psyfocus type so even non-aligned wizards can ponder these orbs.
Palantíri can be rarely purchased from Imperial cities. Not from traveling Imperial traders though, as these are rare and precious artifacts and are never taken out of their castles. The focusing candles can also be bought from Imperial cities but are more common.
Note, because of how Rimworld meditation AI works any Royal pawn will always choose their assigned throne over any other meditation focus. Royal pawns can still ponder the palantír but you will have to order them to or unassign their throne to have them choose it automatically. I really don't feel comfortable making changes to game AI but if you are I will happily link your patch here. Lord of the Rings LOTR
