S.S. Black Oak - Coal Cargo Steamship

What is the S.S. Black Oak? The S.S. Black Oak is a steam powered, coal carrying cargo ship designed around 1935. It features a shallow draft and low freeboard, as it was intended to operate in shallow waters and rivers while still being somewhat seaworthy. That said, high seas should be avoided (wind over 40% in open sea does no good) The ship is a fictional design, but it was loosely based on the Altmark. It includes a basic interior (nothing too special or entirely accurate), but I did my best to make it feasible. I also tried to optimize it as much as possible to keep the weight down and reduce the number of physics shapes, helping to prevent excessive lag ingame. Specifications Length 77 meters overall, 76.25 meters waterline Beam 10.25 meters Draft 2.5 meters Powerplant 2x Flute Boilers (coal) Engine Three cylinder, triple expansion engine powering a 4-blade propellor Speed 19.5 knots Coal Carrying Capacity 7x 2800 units of coal (19,600 Units of coal total) Can i sink it? Yes, but also no. The S.S. Black Oak does not come with built-in sinking functionality. However, you can use C4 and place it in certain areas, or set the weather to a very rough sea state (the ship will eventually flood and sink) or sink it via spawning in another vehicle to sink it. The ship was built with the intention of preventing it from sinking, so… yeah. How to spawn it in The S.S. Black Oak is larger than the default workbench allows. Because of this, there are two ways to spawn the ship. Method 1: Use a larger workbench mod that increases the maximum workbench size, allowing the ship to load and spawn in. Method 2: Spawn the ship via a mission.

Load into a world
Open the Addon Editor
Under "Environment Mods", select a location where you want the ship to spawn
Once selected, click "Edit Objects" on the tile you added
Click "Add Vehicle" at the bottom of the menu
Open the Workshop tab and select the S.S. Black Oak
Place the ship anywhere on the tile
Return to the Addon Overview and click "Test Location" on the tile containing the S.S. Black Oak.
How to run it? You don't need to do much as all manual valves are already open. Simply go to the boiler room and light the boilers and afterwards wait for pressure to build. You can then proceed to increase the throttle on the main bridge and off you go.
